SubTrades makes one of the products on this page, so read it with that in mind. What follows is what each tool is genuinely best at, and the cases where SubTrades is the wrong choice. Details were checked on each vendor's own site and change often.

Three cases, stated plainly, because a comparison that never concedes anything is not worth reading.
Two things, and both follow from the same decision: to start from behaviour rather than from analytics.
Pick the failure you actually have. If your problem is that you cannot see your numbers clearly, buy analytics depth. If your problem is that you already know your setup works and you keep breaking your own rules anyway, buy behavioural analysis. Those are different products, and the second one is what SubTrades is.
Whichever you choose, test it against your own history rather than a demo. Export a few months of your tradebook and see which tool tells you something you did not already know. If none of them do, keep your spreadsheet and your money.
It depends on what you want the journal to do. For the widest Indian broker coverage and the deepest analytics, TradesViz is the strongest option. For finding the behaviour that costs you money, rather than charting what already happened, SubTrades is built specifically for that and prices each habit in rupees. For low trade counts, a spreadsheet is genuinely enough.
Yes. SubTrades gives you the first month of Pro free with no card, and then a Free plan that is free forever, covering unlimited journaling, the last 30 days of history and revenge-pattern detection. Most other tools offer a short trial and no permanent free tier. A spreadsheet remains the other genuinely free option, at the cost of manual entry.
Some do, and it is worth checking before you buy, because a credit allowance means your own history is analysed only as far as the allowance stretches. SubTrades detects patterns algorithmically over every trade you have, with no per-analysis metering. The AI is used for the coaching conversation on top, not to find the patterns.
Broker P&L tells you what happened. It does not tell you why. Your Console or reports page shows a losing day; it does not show that the loss came from three trades taken within twelve minutes of a stop-out. A journal exists to make that second layer visible, whether you write it yourself or a tool reads it from your tradebook.
Most India-focused journals do, including TradesViz. SubTrades supports Zerodha through tradebook CSV upload from Console rather than an API connection, so a single export carries your full history but does not refresh itself.
They are usable, and their analytics are mature, but they are built around US markets. Expect friction with Indian broker formats, NSE and BSE contract naming, weekly expiry structures, lot-based sizing and rupee reporting. For an Indian options trader, an India-native tool usually removes more work than it adds.
Free forever plan, no card required. If it does not show you something you did not know, you have lost nothing.
